High Sierra Showerheads
Our Projects
About Us
High Sierra's shower heads internally collide two streams of water, making an invigorating, drenching spray of large, heavy, high-energy droplets. This globally-unique nozzle design, found in all their shower head products, saves up to 50% on water and water heating energy: a huge sustainability boost for households and organizations! It also won't clog up from hard water minerals. High Sierra's products are currently or at various times have been rated as Best Picks in reviews from CNET, CNN Underscored, Wirecutter (a New York Times Company), Popular Science, Bob Vila, and Treehugger. Among their many institutional customers are The Ohio State University, the US Air Force Academy, and Planet Fitness (200+ locations). Their product lineup includes shower heads and a wide range of showering accessories. These products are all assembled in the USA, from domestic and imported parts.

Sustainability Initiatives:
By switching to a High Sierra Showerheads 1.5 gallons per minute (gpm) high-efficiency low-flow shower head from a standard 2.5 gpm model, each and every month you can:
Save water. Save 600 gallons – equivalent to the contents of 120 water cooler bottles – of fresh, clean water from unnecessarily going down the drain.
Save energy. Save 94 kWh of electricity or 3.2 thermal units of natural gas no longer needed to heat that water.
Cut greenhouse gas emissions. Reduce greenhouse gas emissions by your household, organization, or business by 98 pounds of carbon dioxide (CO2) (with an electric water heater) or 37 pounds of CO2 (with a gas water heater).
(These savings estimates are based on two people sharing a shower, each taking a ten-minute shower daily.)
As well:
High Sierra’s shower heads are almost entirely made from highly durable, recyclable metal. Their core bodies are made of solid brass and stainless steel. (Lead-free brass is also now being introduced across their shower head product lines.). And their tips and other decorative parts are made from heavy-duty zinc. In contrast, most shower heads from competing brands are made largely from plastics, which are far more breakable and shorter-lived, and nearly always non-recyclable.
Their most popular shower head is also their smallest: the Classic. It fits in the palm of your hand. Measuring about 3 inches long and 1 inch wide and weighing under 5 ounces, it’s one of the industry’s most compact shower heads. Both its physical and carbon footprints are sleek and minimal.
High Sierra doesn't encase its products in hard plastic cases for shelf display, which you have to cut away and discard. They’re shipped with just enough packaging to arrive at your door in good condition – and nothing else. Their compact Classic model, for instance, is packed in an equally compact cardboard box that’s just big enough to hold and protect it.
In February 2020, High Sierra installed a 10.46 kW solar panel array, which offsets 100% of its factory site's electricity use. They partnered with Fresno-based Trinity Power, who integrated SunPower solar panels, a SolarEdge DC-to-AC inverter, and Nuance Energy's ground-mounted racking system.
High Sierra's shower heads are water conservation and performance-certified. They’re also certified in accordance with international, national, and local plumbing codes. The company's 1.25, 1.5 and 1.8 gallons per minute (gpm) shower heads are EPA WaterSense-labeled (WaterSense-certified). As well, the company's shower heads meet additional requirements of various states in the USA, including those in California (California Energy Commission Appliance Efficiency) and in Massachusetts (Accepted Plumbing Products).
