Sustainability Initiatives:
Sustainability and environmental protection have never been closer to our hearts and minds; with this in mind, Jennifer Manners Design has created the /re/PURPOSE Collection, the most innovative and sustainable approach to timeless rugs. Comprised of uniquely treated recycled plastic, these hand-knotted rugs are a luxurious yet eco-conscious solution to the need for hard-wearing and stain-resistant floor coverings.
The environmental impact of plastic waste across the world cannot be underestimated and Jennifer Manners’ /re/PURPOSE fibres help to provide one small part of the solution for that waste.
Handcrafted in India from discarded polyethylene components which would otherwise find their way into the ocean or landfill, the fibres are processed using heat and water (then itself recycled) to create a surprisingly soft, plush yet robust yarn. Its fine, matt appearance is almost indistinguishable from wool, however, the inherent qualities of the recycled plastic fibre offer even greater durability, resisting accidental spills and fading as well as being bleach-cleanable.
