After coming across a solid surface while installing residential countertops in 2004, Jon Taylor, president of Lycos, discovered his passion. He began attending training around the country learning how to fabricate solid surface and started performing the work out of his garage. In 2007, he decided to take a risk and left residential construction to rent a warehouse property in Iowa and start Lycos, Inc. Since then, Lycos has expanded into two divisions: Lycos Finish and Lycos Manufacturing. Lycos Finish focuses on finish carpentry and accessory installation, whereas Lycos Manufacturing continues the core practice of solid surface fabrication. Since founded, we have grown to 70 employees with two locations: our office HQ in Omaha and our manufacturing facility in Treynor, IA. We currently have fabrication and installation teams across Nebraska and Iowa including Kearney, Des Moines, Lincoln, and Omaha. Lycos Finish provides installation services for division 6, 8, 10, 11, and 12 for the commercial construction industry. For every job, we provide a project manager and foreman to oversee our installation crews located across Nebraska and Iowa.
