Neil Stevenson Architects, Inc. (NSA) is a young, creative, energetic architecture firm. We are located in the middle of historic downtown Charleston, South Carolina and have been practicing architecture since 1992. A multi-faceted group, NSA has worked extensively in downtown Charleston, throughout the low country, and other regions on a variety of projects. We are skilled in addressing and presenting complex issues and designs to the design review boards, neighborhood associations, and government agencies that are in force in many cities and neighborhoods. We have completed a large body of work within the historic district of Charleston, SC, and when approaching the public with our designs, we stress the importance of designing buildings that can be folded into Charleston’s vivid past while enriching its modern-day context. The scope of our projects range from minutely detailed canopy systems to large site developments and complex public structures. We have also designed technically complicated projects including a large hazardous waste loading and storage facility, an explosion-proof testing facility, a daycare, and an assisted living facility. Regardless of the project, our focus is on creatively challenging designs in both the commercial and residential realms and includes hotel annexes, restaurants, bars, offices, retail spaces, car dealerships, and prototypes. The scope of our intimate, custom residential work includes single-family luxury homes, renovations, additions, apartments, and condominiums as well as many speculative mixed-use and residential developments.
