Sustainability Initiatives:
Nook's inherent flexibility and ability to be used to fulfill multiple needs provides an efficient use of nature’s resources for its users. The most sustainable products are those can be used and reused for many years. Nook is designed on that basis.
Nook's shell is constructed from Eurolight with a closed material cycle which only uses wood from managed forests, residual wood of a selected quality from local sawmills, as well as suitable recycled wood. The manufacturing process uses 60% less wood than traditional MDF alternatives, and with a reduced CO2 impact throughout its production process, including final delivery because of its lower weight. The shell can also be recycled at the end of its product lifecycle and used again back through our production processes.
The fabric is from the Camira Xtreme range, which is a modern crepe weave fabric made from 100% recycled polyester, diverting waste from landfill & saving virgin raw materials.
The core Nook's materials are manufactured to ISO 14001:2004, ISO 50001, and comply with REACH.
