Designed for a production designer, this steep hillside transforms into a 3-story residence and studio. The form responds directly to the topography and the road creating a unique volume. The building is nestled back into the hillside to minimize the overall scale and mass of the structure.
The communal living space includes a large communal kitchen, dining table, fire place, and it overlooks the abundant outdoor space give life to this dream.
The capsule is composed of 40 transparent, inflatable tentacles hanging from the sky and grazing the courtyard floor.
An ActivWall Horizontal Folding Door and a series of ActivWall Horizontal Folding Windows are used on this rooftop bar to create a flexible space. When closed, they bring in light while keeping out the elements. The units can be opened for fresh air and access to the outdoor patio.
