The UNCG pedestrian tunnel is a 200’ long, pedestrian and bicycle tunnel under the Norfolk Southern rail line that ensures safe and convenient access for students coming to and from the campus. Wagner Murray used brick and pre-cast concrete to tie the design to UNCG’s architectural history. The blue and yellow colors weave through the tunnel’s vaulted ceiling to illustrate progress and advancement. They also created gateway icons and strategically placed lighting to illuminate the pathway at night.
