The Annie Wittenmyer Complex, a Civil War-era series of buildings that had originally been the Iowa Soldiers and Sailors Orphanage, now houses a branch of the Davenport Public Library, The Parks and Recreation Department, and several children’s organizations. The exterior renovation of the 1880’s cottages included structural repair, reroofing, painting, and trim repair as well as new gutters and downspouts. The deteriorated arcade was replaced to match the original appearance. All work met the stringent, Secretary of the Interior’s standards.
