Ceramic Ink Printed Glass

Albert Park lies in the heart of Suva and has several historic events associated with it. It is both the place where Fiji first became an independent nation and where Charles Kingsford Smith, landed his small plane, the Southern Cross, during one of the greatest feats in aviation history - the first flight across the Pacific. When it came to upgrading the facility and honouring the feats of Kingsford Smith the choice for the Suva City council was easy – VisionInk®. Glasshape worked in association with its Fiji agent IGM, AAPI Architects and HLK Jacob to honour the feat of this great aviator with a display accessible by the public, a main feature of which was a walkway flanked by glass aeroplane wings depicting scenes from this historic event. So why did they choose VisionInk®, with its ability to recreate photo realistic images as well as graphics this product became the obvious choice. Other considerations were the fact that the image becomes part of the glass substrate once tempered (toughened) so it becomes extremely hard to scratch. In addition the inclusion of UV inhibitors in the ink meant that it could be used both internally and externally. All important features when you are looking for longevity and a product that will withstand the test of time.
