The building faces the Oak Grove, an area within the modern campus filled with dated scrub oaks. The Grove was originally slated to become a parking lot, but students quickly became fond of the old oaks. The Oak Grove is an introspective space where students can reconnect with nature, find peace, reflect, or study. The marriage of the Student Development Center to the Oak Grove combines aspects of nature to promote the overall wellness of the student body.
