Glasshape® has the capabilities to bend its Glass in many different ways, shapes and sizes; providing a limitless array of options for custom curves. The Daumar Offices utilized the TemperShield Toughened Glass for this unique, curved staircase.
TemperShield Toughened Glass can be customized for 2D, 3D and complex curves, including conical, spherical, J-curves & tangents, with thickness ranging from 4mm (1/8') - 19mm (3/4"). They are also laminate and print compatible.
TemperShield® can be used as a structural component in modern design – in some instances the use of bent toughened glass can mean thinner, lighter stock is used whilst still meeting the required wind loading parameters. Its use will also increase natural light and the feeling of space.
The large exterior windows at Daumar Packaging add ample natural light to the office lobby and reception space. The curving, glass staircase is also able to be seen from afar.
