Gabriel Kreuther, the Alsatian, Michelin-starred chef, opened his very first restaurant in New York City’s Grace Building on 42nd street directly across from Bryant Park. Glen & Company architecture used Reclaimed wooden timbers to line the dining room.
Formerly helming the kitchen at Danny Meyer’s famed MoMA outpost The Modern, Kreuther tapped Glen & Company Architecture to design the 14,000 SF home for his Alsatian-American inspired dining concept. Seen here is the beautiful reclaimed wood within the dining room.
The restaurant spans two levels, the Glen & Co. team of Architects and Interior Designers weaved layers of rich meaning, material, and history into one of the most unique spaces in the city. Seen here throughout the restaurant bar interior design and lounge.
The Grace Building, which houses the large restaurant is a magnificent modern building, whose lines and materials were used for inspiration throughout the bar lounge seating and lighting detail design.
To determine the overall layout, Glen & Co. used a contemporary interpretation of Alsace’s Old Town Square, creating an active streetscape between the lounge and the main dining room.
