For 120 years, Gordon has kept restaurants and foodservice organizations in good taste, supplying culinary products and operations expertise.
As North America’s largest broadline food distribution company, Gordon Food Service's
goal was to advance margins through consolidating operations, increasing process efficiencies, and facilitating distribution. The key challenge was remaining functional while under construction.
Refrigeration was the critical issue needing prioritization at Gordon Food Service. To stay completely operational, Dacon built a new refrigeration space around the existing area without disturbing sales volume.
The resulting 348,000 SF Gordon Food Service facility entailed 2-story executive offices, a cooler dock, freezer, dry goods storage, 6 pump fuel station, and 45 loading docks. Completion time was only 4 months with $264,000 returned in savings.
