The wall receives regular maintenance to ensure that the plants thrive. Grow lights were installed at the top of the wall so that the plants receive enough light, by Ambius.
UV filters were installed into the wall’s recirculating irrigation system so that the water in the wall is always free of pathogens. The recirculating system maximizes the wall’s water efficiency, by Ambius.
Measuring at 33 feet wide and 12 feet tall, the wall features plants species such as Holly Fern, Bird Nest Fern, Silver Satin Pothos and others, by Ambius.
The wall has been well-received by both staff and visitors to the Ann B. Barshinger Cancer Institute. A bench continuing down the corridor is integrated into the wall, by Ambius.
