The newest addition to UCLA’s Anderson School of Management since 1995, the $80-million Marion Anderson Center is a 64,000 SF, 4-story student “lifecycle” complex designed to support the needs of students, alumni, and visitors at the Anderson School of Business.
Featuring “active learning classrooms, auditorium and workspaces, and event and gathering spaces,” the building aims to house everything “from admissions to student affairs, career support to alumni connections.” (UCLA Anderson)
Funded completely by donors, the Marion Anderson Center was designed by renowned architecture firms Gensler and Pei Cobb Freed & Partners. Giroux Glass was subcontracted to provide and install the building’s highly specialized window systems, including its show-stopping central atrium.
Awarded ENR California 2020 Best Higher Education project, UCLA Marion Anderson Hall is 64,000 square feet and 4-stories. It features active learning classrooms, auditorium and workspaces, and event and gathering spaces.
The new building allows UCLA Anderson to address changes in the learning technologies and career needs of the 21st century.

Marion Anderson Hall has multiple work spaces with a bright, airy feel.
This LEED Certified – Platinum project featured an Interior Atrium System comprised of OPG-300 Curtain Wall.
To create its airy, dynamic effect, the architects designed all paneling and windows for the atrium lobby area to be skewed off the grid at odd angles, both horizontally and vertically.
The building houses everything “from admissions to student affairs, career support to alumni connections.”

To handle the space’s unconventional window placement, the Giroux Glass team employed large scissor lifts and a multi-level approach to installation, pitching frames as large as 32′ at hyper-precise angles across four stories at multiple elevations.
